MEW – THE OLD SONGs

I have listened Mew’s first album Triumph For A Man. There’s a lot of surprise when I heard those songs. I got the album from my new friend Rifan (thanx man!!). Still confuse with some words in their album, Mew has changed a half young people in the world by their work hard. By the way, Indonesia is the most great fans of Mew. Even tough I really hard get their b-sides but I must go on (not connecting to the problem)

There’s a song using mandarin. It’s really cool….I think Mew have to make a song by using Indonesian language inside. Agree?

About The Super Insurgent Group of Intemperance Talent
1994-2002
Period of formation. In this period, they met each other, played and hung up toghether, fought each other, rehearsed a lot, and wrote their song.

2002-2004
In 2004, The S.I.G.I.T. signed to Spills Records and released their self titled debut mini album (EP) and performed many bar gigs and venue. Their first single, Soul Sister soon became a local radio hits in Bandung and Jakarta, made reputated on MTV Trax Magazine as "The Hottest Rock N Roll Band".

By contributing on movie soundtrack for Catatan Akhir Sekolah (CAS), their fanbase grow rapidly. Did I Ask Your Opinion, which appeared as OST on former movie, finally became their first single to be broadcasted on MTV-I.

After leaving Spills Records, they begun to spread their stage performance to bigger venue and region...

2005-...

KINGS OF CONVENIENCE – OLD STUFFS, COLLABS, RARE, AND SOME CONNECTIONS

There’s no big different on their first album Quiet is The New Loud if you compare with Riot On Empty Street. I knew them when their second album came out. It was really hard to get their songs. But now I can get all mp3s from this band. I like them because their music so softly to be listened. Maybe I’m late to give you information about Kings of Convenience.

On March 2006 ago, they had come here (Indonesia). I was surprised when I was collecting my money for buying their concert ticket and my friend told me that the ticket is sold out. I‘m just modern villager and I can’t get the money quickly. I just stayed at home and thinking them on the stage. I wish there’s a second chance to come here. I promise I will attending there. Now I’m just waiting my friend for giving me DVD live performance from this band. For curing my broken heart I will give you souvenirs kind of old mp3s from Kings of Convenience. I will be dedicated this post to who was watching their performance in Jakarta and Bandung and also who loves their music.

I saw many blogs posted about those artists. i forgot my fileden password but i was still trying to get these links. Air's song called Once Upon A Time has listened by me on the radio. But the other songs were never heard before. so I try to download these songs and share again to you.
Nowadays, speed of connection in Indonesia is slowing because the wind so strong and almost everyday rains. Fileden doesn't helping me to upload mp3s.

Indo-Indieview (Musik Review) Eps.2

1. D’cinnamons – Loving You

I know this song from Prambors Radio. When the first time I heard, I didn’t know that the band is d’cinnamons. My friend told me that’s Indonesian band. I surprised d’cinnamons come from here. Their music are so different from others. The vocalist has strong point to sing inspite of a simple arrangement. The lyric is so good.

2. Astrolab – We Are Burlesque

I got this song from indiepopradio just same as Santa Monica in previous post. Astrolab come from Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. I don’t have much information about this band. The song is called we are burlesque has middle tempo. Burlesque in Indonesian says is EJEKAN. So “We are Burlesque” mean “Kita Adalah Ejekan”. The member of this band just two persons.

3. Stereovila – Peri yang Bijak

Stereovila started their debut album that is owned by Hai Music. This band come from Yogyakarta. The city that is ever be capital city of Indonesia when Jakarta was coup d'etat. Yogyakarta has nickname art-city and student-city. So don’t be surprised if there’s too many artist on that city. Stereovila play rock describe their expression when Campursari, Keroncong (clanking), and Gamelan are known as Java’s culture.

4. Ape On The Roof – Puzzle

Actually Ape on the Roof is not a band. It’s just side project of Aghi Narottama. Ape on the roof was formed in Seattle. Aghi Narottama is the member of LAIN band (previous post). Utari Syaukat joined the project when she was still studying in Art Institue of Seattle. Both them were meating in same college. Helped by Utari as vocalist, the color of music that were created by Aghi still undefined and leaning semi-electronic with acoustic touch.

5. Sore – She’s So Beautiful

Sore is one of my favorite indie band. At this time I give you song’s called ‘She’s So Beautiful’ featuring Lens TerWe of The Miskins. This song has great arrangement because they can combine between retro pop and punk. Listen that song and you will be surprised. At the beginning of this song the music is so calm and then punk is played.

6. The Upstairs - Digital Video Festival

The Upstairs is one of great indie musician. I have taken this song from their second album Energi. The upstairs often singing at high school party in Jakarta. They called their music genre new wave punk as like Joy Division. The Upstairs is one of pioneer of Jakarta indie scene. With energic moves by Jimi Danger, The Upstairs is running off like rocket.

7. Overloadromance – Dance Will Drop

I know this band from my friend at internet rentals. My friend said that the songs are really nice, full beat and understandable lyrics. Dance Will Drop has fast-beat and semi-techno. I have taken this song from their debut album.

8. Everybody Loves Irene – Try, Try, Try

Finnaly I found Indonesian trip hop. But again, Aghi Narottama inside (huh..). just leke Portishead, Mono, and little beat gamelan orchestra. Now they have to performance in Malaysia. Congratulation!!! Please remember, name of the vocalist is Irene. So why does the name Everybody Loves Irene?
