Anti-mainstream this week is about rock n roll band from Indonesia. The band who brings rock in 60-70's to your ears. This band are called Karon 'n Roll, they just have been releasing their EP called 'infra bercinta' and the hit single is called Boleh-Boleh.

Float is the name of band from Jakarta, Indonesia. There are three persons, they are….
The song’s called ‘Pulang’ is the first track they had published to the media before they made their debut album that’s called ‘OST Tiga Hari Untuk Selamanya’. Taken from movie soundtrack of ‘Tiga Hari Untuk Selamanya’. The vocal is just like Chris Cornell voice or Dave Matthews. But that’s the strong-point. Let’s see what I have to review this band.
Their debut album consists of 11 songs, 8 songs using English and 3 songs using Indonesian language.

No Dream Land
The vocalist sings in English fluently. I see The Editors voice in this song. Nice music, nice lyrics.

Stupido Ritmo (Sorry, no link for this song! do it yourself!)
I don’t getting the lyric of this song, so I don’t comprehend what they are telling. But the rhythm is really enjoyable and little bit stupid. I think.

Pulang
Oooo…I really love this song. If you know Indonesian language, you will be adoring them because the lyric’s so great. ‘Pulang’ in English says ‘Back Home’. They tell about someone who wants to go home immediately or someone who feels homesick.

There are several good stuffs from their debut album. Like ‘Sementara’, and ‘Tiga Hari Untuk Selamanya’. But I can’t tell you now. Sorry!

THE POSTMARKS (INDONESIAN REVIEW)

Beberapa hari yang lalu saya mengunjungi myspace Acid House Kings, lalu saya melihat daftar teman-teman dari band tersebut. Kemudian saya melihat band yang bernama The Postmarks, saya penasaran dengan band tersebut. Bagaimanakah bentuk musiknya. Kemudian saya mendownload lagu 'Goodbye'. Setelah saya dengarkan lagunya, saya merasa nyaman mendengarnya. Beberapa hari kemudian saya masih penasaran dengan beberapa lagu lainnya di debut albumnya itu. Dengan suara vokal yang seperti gadis yang malas dan alunan lagu yang mendayu-dayu, band yang ditempati oleh Tim, Jon, dan Christopher ini sangat baik dalam memainkan musiknya. Saya berkesimpulan bahwa band ini adalah band yang menarik. Ada beberapa lagu mengingatkan saya akan musik dari Klarinet(band yang dulunya dihuni oleh vokalis Stereomantic). Saya band ini akan terkenal di Indonesia.

First, I will tell about Laura Veirs. Who’s she? I didn’t even know her before. Until my friend on friendster requested Laura Veirs’s song. So I searched one of Laura Veirs’s song. I found the song in skreemr.com, there’s so many Veirs’s song. I chose Saltbreaker, because the title sounds unique. She just like KT Tunstal at glance. Is it right?

MEW – THE OLD SONGs

I have listened Mew’s first album Triumph For A Man. There’s a lot of surprise when I heard those songs. I got the album from my new friend Rifan (thanx man!!). Still confuse with some words in their album, Mew has changed a half young people in the world by their work hard. By the way, Indonesia is the most great fans of Mew. Even tough I really hard get their b-sides but I must go on (not connecting to the problem)

There’s a song using mandarin. It’s really cool….I think Mew have to make a song by using Indonesian language inside. Agree?

About The Super Insurgent Group of Intemperance Talent
1994-2002
Period of formation. In this period, they met each other, played and hung up toghether, fought each other, rehearsed a lot, and wrote their song.

2002-2004
In 2004, The S.I.G.I.T. signed to Spills Records and released their self titled debut mini album (EP) and performed many bar gigs and venue. Their first single, Soul Sister soon became a local radio hits in Bandung and Jakarta, made reputated on MTV Trax Magazine as "The Hottest Rock N Roll Band".

By contributing on movie soundtrack for Catatan Akhir Sekolah (CAS), their fanbase grow rapidly. Did I Ask Your Opinion, which appeared as OST on former movie, finally became their first single to be broadcasted on MTV-I.

After leaving Spills Records, they begun to spread their stage performance to bigger venue and region...

KINGS OF CONVENIENCE – OLD STUFFS, COLLABS, RARE, AND SOME CONNECTIONS

There’s no big different on their first album Quiet is The New Loud if you compare with Riot On Empty Street. I knew them when their second album came out. It was really hard to get their songs. But now I can get all mp3s from this band. I like them because their music so softly to be listened. Maybe I’m late to give you information about Kings of Convenience.

On March 2006 ago, they had come here (Indonesia). I was surprised when I was collecting my money for buying their concert ticket and my friend told me that the ticket is sold out. I‘m just modern villager and I can’t get the money quickly. I just stayed at home and thinking them on the stage. I wish there’s a second chance to come here. I promise I will attending there. Now I’m just waiting my friend for giving me DVD live performance from this band. For curing my broken heart I will give you souvenirs kind of old mp3s from Kings of Convenience. I will be dedicated this post to who was watching their performance in Jakarta and Bandung and also who loves their music.
